Step-by-Step Prerequisites for Setting Up Attachments.expert

Attachments.expert will help you manage your attachments comprehensively. It allows you to attach your files and store them on the storage servers of your choice, currently supporting Amazon S3, Azure Blob, Local Disk, FTP, and SFTP.


Setup Storage Server 


To use Attachments.expert for storing your files, you first need to set up your storage server with a profile. You can either use the default profile or create a new one.


Configure Default storage profile

  1. Navigate to "Installed Packages".
  2. Next to the Attachments.expert installed package, click on "Configure".
  3. Click on "Default" under the Storage Server option, as shown in the image below.
  4. Select your preferred storage server from the storage types and provide the required values.
  5. Click on "Save".


Salesforce Configuration


After setting up the storage server, you need to configure the application with the object for which you want to store files.

  1. Navigate to "Installed Packages".
  2. Next to the Attachments.expert installed package, click on "Configure".
  3. Under "Settings," click on "Application Setup".
  4. Search for the object you want to use, e.g., "Contact".
  5. Next to the object, click on "Enable".
  6. Select the folder path field from the selected object.
  7. Choose the desired page layout.
  8. Click on "Save".


Attachment Settings


Attachment settings allow you to customize your file uploads according to your requirements. These settings include options like maximum file size (MB), allowed or excluded file extensions, and other preferences, as shown in the image below.
